In this test, the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G2 was faster than the G1 at reads, but again, much slower at writes. Ultimately, that made it slower than the G1 at small, sequential accesses.

This is the most important test, because most people use USB flash drives to transfer files. The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G2 improves on the DT Ultimate 3.0 G1's already phenomenal performance by delivering a read speed of 126 MB/s and a write speed of 74.5 MB/s. That makes it 38% faster at reads and 12% faster at writes than the G1.
When compared against the fastest USB 2.0 flash drive in this comparison, the SanDisk Cruzer Micro SDCZ6, the DT Ultimate 3.0 G2 was 4.4x faster at reads and 8.8x faster at writes! Even when we tested it with a USB 2.0 port, the DT Ultimate 3.0 G2 was 29% faster at reads and 3.4x faster at writes.
