The name Prince of Persia needs no introduction. If you have not heard of this game before, it's probably because you have only started gaming after 1999!
Prince of Persia first came into being in 1989, with the first game created my Jordan Mechner. The 1989 hit spawned two other sequels - Prince of Persia 2 : The Shadow and The Flame (1993) and Prince of Persia 3D (1999).

An Ancient Curse. A Fatal Mistake - A prince's quest
In medieval Persia, Earth's mightiest and most mysterious kingdom, a king and his son defeat the powerful Maharajah, looting his palace of priceless treasure, including an extravagant hourglass and a mysterious dagger. What the prince does not realize is that these two objects can turn their possessor into an immortal god, and give him control over time itself. Tricked by a dying Vizier bent on harnessing this terrible magic for himself, the Prince releases the Sands of Time, destroying a kingdom and turning its populace into ferocious demons. Now it is up to the young Prince of Persia to call upon every resource and ounce of courage he possesses to save his kingdom and redeem his fatal mistake.

This game is basically made up of a combination of obstacles, puzzles and combat. Obstacles would include running a long stretch of pathway ridden with spikes and traps which you have to avoid. Puzzles in the games include pressing plates or shifting objects and turning levers. Combat is self-explanatory. However, don't get any cheeky ideas about avoiding combat as there is no way to avoid it!
