The Diamondback Gaming Mouse
The Diamondback has a really sleek and attractive design. Our review sample glowed in Salamander Red but Chameleon Green looks good too! It's really a matter of preference.
It has a translucent shell that allows a peek at the mouse' innards. Here, you can see the circuitboard and chips through the translucent shell.
Also, note that the mouse is stabilized by one long Teflon foot at the rear and two small Teflon feet in the front. Let's take a look at the front and rear profiles.
On the left side of the mouse, you will see a mouse button surrounded by a strip of rubber for better grip.
Surprisingly, this is duplicated on the right side of the mouse!
Needless to say, the right button will be more than a tad tough to get at in the middle of a fragfest!
Mouse Cord
Like all professional gaming mice, the Diamondback uses a mouse cord for connectivity. Unlike other mice though, the Diamondback sends 16-bits of data. This bypasses the slow 8ms polling rate supported by Windows XP and allows for much faster speeds!
Also unique is the fact that the Diamondback comes with a gold-plated USB connector! A real bling-bling factor for LAN parties. But whether it actually helps in your gaming experience is another matter altogether.
