IOPS Scaling (Sequential)

In these tests, we tested the drive's ability to tackle multiple input/output operations. Again, we compared the 4 TB Western Digital Red (WD40EFRX) to the 3 TB Western Digital Red (WD30EFRX). For more performance comparisons, please take a look at The Hard Disk Drive Performance Comparison Guide.

Surprisingly, when it came to sequential reads, the 4 TB Red's performance at 8 simultaneous I/Os was far poorer than the 3 TB Red's performance, even though they more or less equalized at 32 simultaneous I/Os.
