IOPS Scaling (Random)
In these tests, we tested the drive's ability to tackle multiple input/output operations. Again, we compared the 4 TB Western Digital Red (WD40EFRX) to the 3 TB Western Digital Red (WD30EFRX). For more performance comparisons, please take a look at The Hard Disk Drive Performance Comparison Guide.
The 4 TB Western Digital Red (WD40EFRX)'s newer Marvell 88i9446 dual-core processor appears to be slightly better at handling multiple random reads than the Marvell 88i9346 dual-core processor used in the 3 TB Red.
