Razer Diamondback Professional Gaming Mouse Review

Razer Diamondback

The Razer Diamondback is a serious piece of work. Even though Razer has been through ups and downs since its inception, the company's expertise in gaming mouse and accessories should not be underestimated.

The packaging is as professional and solid as those from top manufacturers like Logitech or Microsoft. No cheap packaging for a mouse of this pedigree! The design of the mouse itself speaks volumes about the amount of engineering that goes into it.

With a 1600 dpi sensor that can capture 6,400 frames per second, this is an optical mouse that will keep up even with the fastest players. This is further supported by the use of 16-bit data packets which bypasses Windows XP's polling limit of only 125 times per second.

The Diamondback also comes with 7 programmable buttons. Although I doubt many of us will be using the right side button, it is actually useful as it allows the mouse to be used by the left-handed as well as the right-handed.

Aesthetically, this mouse is really quite something. It has a really attractive translucent shell that glows in either red or green; and comes with a gold-plated USB connector! If that does not turn heads during a LAN party, then nothing else will.

Its performance is also stellar. Switching to the Razer Diamondback immediately increases the speed at which you move on screen, with only minimal wrist movements. The increased sensitivity and precision will also be very noticeable. Even the slightest movement is translated on screen! Best of all, you don't need to move the mouse much. This will do wonders for your wrist and help you avoid the carpal tunnel syndrome.

Be it games or work-related applications, the Razer Diamondback really shines with its incredible speed, precision and sensitivity. If you are serious about gaming, then you should definitely give this mouse a try. You don't know what you are missing!

* Our New Review System

ARP is committed to developing new ways to improve your experience with us. As part of our continuous efforts to improve the value of our reviews to you, we are implementing a new review system.

This new review system is designed to allow you to quickly receive information on the latest hardware. This new system also allows you to quickly get the gist of the review without reading through it. This can be very useful, especially in situations where you need to make a quick purchase decision.

In this new system, we start with a Product Overview whenever a company sends us a press release about their latest product. We shift through extraneous PR-talk to create a straightforward summary of the product's features as well as specifications. This allows you to quickly find out all the pertinent details about the product, without reading through official press releases.

When we receive the product for review, we will quickly take photos of it and create a Pictorial Review. The purpose of a pictorial review is to allow you, the reader, to quickly examine the product visually. It may help you make better purchase decisions, especially if you cannot wait for the full review.

After thorough testing, we will post a Comprehensive Review of the product. This adds on to the pictorial review with comprehensive test results and our final conclusion on the product.

But no matter whether you are reading a Pictorial Review or a Comprehensive Review, you can always read the summary of the review as well as examine the product's specifications right on the first page. In all our new reviews, we will maintain the first page as a Product Overview page. If the product is listed in PriceGrabber, you can also check out the lowest price online.

We hope this new review system will make your experience a lot more enjoyable and informative!
