The Card
The NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra can be considered as one of the largest graphics cards available in the market. It is a 21.25 cm long monster!
It is so long that we actually faced some difficulties during the installation process. One of the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra's surface-mounted components was almost blocked by the NF7-S's DIMM slot latches. You might want to take note is that our reference card is the final retail design. It is not an early prototype design, so if you own an ABIT NF7-S motherboard and you are planning on getting this card, I would advise you to pay more attention to this part during installation of the card.
Just like its predecessor, the GeforceFX 5900 Ultra draws more power than the AGP port can provide. Therefore, you have to plug in an external power cable to deliver the power it needs. The arrangement of the memory chips is identical to the Matrox Parhelia's layout - arranged in pairs around the NV35 GPU. This will reduce the signal noise as the shorter the signal length, the cleaner the signal.
