COUGAR
COUGAR was established in 2007 by a group of PC hardware enthusiasts in Germany, who wanted more than the typical PC peripherals, so they established a team to create gaming peripherals of the highest quality and aesthetics. They started with PC cases and PSUs and have since moved to gaming mice and keyboards.
They started out with the COUGAR 200M and 600M gaming mice, which are conventional designs. The new COUGAR 700M changes that with a new innovative design that won the iF Product Design Award for 2014 - a tremendous achievement for such a young company.
They accomplished this by thinking outside the box. Instead of creating another variation of the typical mouse, they created the COUGAR 700M around a folded aluminium framing structure that is not only more rigid but also much lighter at just 110 g. The result was a futuristic-looking mouse that is truly a sight to behold.
But how does it feel in the hand? Can it perform as well as it looks? That's what we are going to examine today in our review of the COUGAR 700M aluminium gaming mouse. Let's check it out!

Packaging & Contents
The COUGAR 700M comes in a very sleek cardboard box, with a large clear plastic window on top. The left and right side of the box details the COUGAR 700M's key features, with the specifications and other details printed on the bottom. Note the round plastic seal at the bottom of the box. It keeps the left and right cardboard frames in place.
Once you cut the seal, the two cardboard frames slide out of the way, allowing you to lift the clear plastic enclosure. Underneath, you will find the provided accessories. The COUGAR 700M mouse is locked in place by cable ties, so you will need to remove them to "release" the mouse.
Once you remove everything, you should find the following items :
- one COUGAR 700M gaming mouse
- one COUGAR 700M user manual
- one COUGAR 700M sport palm rest
- one COUGAR sticker
There is no software CD, because you are supposed to download the latest version from the Internet. The COUGAR 700M works right out of the box with Microsoft Windows. You only need the COUGAR UIX System software to customise it.
