Introducing The Samsung Galaxy A8
Mr. Lee Jui Siang, Vice President of IT, Mobile & Digital Imaging, Samsung Malaysia then gave a presentation detailing the new Galaxy A8's key features - its large 5.7″ Super AMOLED display in the slimmest form factor in the world at just 5.9 mm (0.23 inches) thick, with a bezel that is just 2.5 mm thin! It also boasts a 16 MP main camera and a 5 MP front camera, both with f/19 lens.
The Galaxy A8 will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with 2 GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM. This is about par for a mid-range smartphone, although it will mean more aggressive memory management than smartphones with more memory like the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge or the 4 GB ASUS ZenFone 2, which is at the same price range.

Samsung will only offer the Galaxy A8 with 32 GB of storage here in Malaysia, with the official retail price of RM 1,888 (inclusive of the 6% GST). That works out to about USD 499 at today's exchange rate. It will be available in three colours – Midnight Black, Champagne Gold or Pearl White.
