Intel Desktop Chipset Roadmap @ June, 2008
In addition to the Intel desktop CPU roadmap, we also managed to get our hands on Intel's internal roadmap for their desktop chipsets. This is the latest roadmap, as of June 2008.
Intel launched their new 4 Series of desktop chipsets at Computex Taipei 2008, with two chipsets without integrated graphics (P45, P43) and two chipsets with integrated graphics (G45 and G43). For more information on the Intel 4 Series (Eaglelake) chipset, take a look at our Intel Eaglelake Pre-Launch Details.
With those chipsets fresh out of the oven, there will be nothing new from Intel until the end of the year when Intel is scheduled to launch the X58 Express (Tylersburg) chipset together with the Intel Bloomfield (Nehalem desktop) processor. It will use the same ICH10/ICH10R south bridge as the Intel 4 Series chipsets.
Around the same time, Intel will also launch the Intel G41 chipset which will be paired with the ICH7 to power low-cost motherboards with integrated graphics.
