The New GeForce 7600 GT GPU

On March 9th, 2006, NVIDIA launched three new GeForce 7 series GPUs. Two of these GPUs are high-end cards - the GeForce 7900 GTX/GT GPUs. The third is a new mid-range GPU - the GeForce 7600 GT!

The new GeForce 7600 GT will be a replacement for the popular GeForce 6600 GT graphics card. Designed to offer the same price-performance value of the GeForce 6600 GT, this GPU will feature more pixel pipelines, more vertex shaders and a 90nm process technology.

It is, however, not the first NVIDIA GPU to feature the smaller 90nm process technology. That honour goes to the humble GeForce 7300 GS. Thanks to the new process technology, the GeForce 7600 GT will not only be faster than its predecessor, it will also be smaller, cooler and use less power!

Let's take a look at the new GeForce 7600 GT!

The GeForce 7600 GT

The GeForce 7600 GTX is NVIDIA's new mid-range GPU. Targeted at the ATI Radeon X1600 XT, the GeForce 7600 GT will boast a target price of USD 199.

This is what the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT reference card looks like. It actually uses the same cooler as the new GeForce 7900 GT graphics card!

If you take a look at the picture on the right, you can see that the cooler is a single slot solution. The cooler does not exhaust air out the bracket.

Similar to the GeForce 7900 GT, the bracket features just the single HDTV-out connector and two DVI ports.
