Conclusion
The Icemat 2nd Edition mouse pad is a really cool looking mouse pad. Made entirely of glass, this mouse pad has real heft in both weight and mousing surface.
It may not be suitable for LAN parties, but it's perfect for a home PC. Its large surface area ensures that you will never run out of mousing surface while its weight prevents it from moving. In addition, because it's made from glass, this mouse pad will never warp, even after years of use!
The only complaint we have about the physical construction of the mouse pad was its base coat. It was highly susceptible to smudges and fingerprints, which are very hard to remove.
But it was nice to see that Icemat provided a pack of four Padsurfers with the package. While most users may prefer to continue using their mice's original Teflon feet, the inclusion of Padsurfers is a value-added benefit that cannot be denied.
We generally loved using the Icemat 2nd Edition. It was a real pleasure to use for general work and games. It was very easy to work the mouse over the large mousing surface and the frosted glass surface felt great on the palm. However, we found that it was not very suitable for accurate graphics work.
Therefore, you should consider if accurate graphics work is important to you. If it is, we do not recommend using this mouse pad. But if you are not going to do any kind of work that requires pixel-to-pixel accuracy, then this would be a great mouse pad to consider. It's large, roomy and has a totally flat, warp-free mousing surface. What else can you ask for?
