Kingston 1GB PC2-5400 HyperX DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Memory Kit Review

The Modules

As mentioned before, the kit comes with two 512MB PC2-5400 memory modules. Both modules have blue heatspreaders (as used in all unbuffered HyperX modules) that aid in heat dissipation.

Both the modules show off DDR2 logos on the front left

What differentiates these modules from the usual DDR modules are the 'DDR2' logos emblazoned on both the front and back of the modules; and, of course, the presence of 240-pins as opposed to DDR's 184-pins.

The back of the module has the Kingston, HyperX and DDR2 logos

The heatspreader is stuck onto the RAM modules with thermal tape to ensure efficient heat dissipation.

This is the view of one of the modules from the connector side.
The adhesive tape that Kingston uses to secure the heatspreaders onto the modules is just visible
in this picture as the gray material between the heatspreader and the chips.

Now, let's take a look at the specifications of each module.

Module Specifications

A look at the label on one of the modules
