The ZM400A-APF Vs. The ZM400B-APS
Both ZM400A-APF and ZM400B-APS are 400W ATX 2.03 power supplies that come with ATX12V support necessary to power the latest motherboards. Like the other Zalman products we have reviewed here, these power supplies are also part of their Computer Noise Prevention System (CNPS) line of products.
Thanks to the noise prevention system, these power supplies are extremely quiet, even under heavy load! Zalman's CNPS technology reduces the noise level of the power supplies to less than 20dB! In comparison, even whispering has a sound rating of 30dB! So, unless you put your ear next to the fan outlet, both power supplies are virtually silent, especially when it's not heavily loaded.
All Zalman power supplies (including the 300W models) come with the following :-
- 7 x 4-pin peripheral connectors
- 2 x floppy drive connectors
- 1 x standard ATX 20-pin connector
- 1 x auxiliary connector
- 1 x 12V power connector
So, how exactly does the new ZM400B-APS differ from the ZM400A-APF?
According to Zalman, the ZM400B now supports version 1.3 of the ATX12 specifications and comes with two additional Serial ATA v.1.0 power connectors. Those are basically the only difference you can see from the outside.
