NVIDIA ION Desktop Graphics Card
This is what the reference design for the NVIDIA ION desktop graphics card looks like. It will be a half-height card as it's designed to be used in HTPCs. It will have a small active cooler, instead of just a heatsink. Still, the noise level should be negligible.
The NVIDIA ION graphics card will come with dual-linked DVI and HDMI ports. The ION GPU also supports VGA output but cards featuring VGA output will be rare.
Here is the block diagram of the desktop graphics card :
It only differs from the netbook block diagram in that the graphics output is handled directly by the NVIDIA ION GPU. In netbooks, the Intel Atom CPU's integrated GMA 3150 GPU actually handles the display.
