Testing Methodology
For the Idle temperature, the system was left running just Windows desktop for 5 - 10 minutes. The lowest temperature attained was recorded.
For Full Load temperature, SiSoft Sandra 2002's Burn-In Wizard was used to max out the CPU by running 10 rounds of CPU Arithmetic and CPU Multi-Media Benchmark. The highest temperature attained was recorded.
Both Idle and Full Load temperatures were tested using Maximum and Minimum fan speed settings.
Fan speeds were recorded via the motherboard BIOS.
We also tested the stock cooler that came with the AMD Athlon XP 1700+, which is the Cooler Master DP5-6H11.
