The Card
Unlike its humungous big brother, the NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT takes up only one slot, thanks to its slim copper cooler. Surprisingly, the cooler is quite compact. It covers less than half the surface area of the card. In fact, it doesn't even cool the memory chips. The back is totally clear of significant components. But you can see the four screws used to hold the cooler in place.

Like all single-slot coolers, this one is not designed to vent hot air out the back plate. Instead, it circulates the hot air within the case. On the back plate, the card comes with a TV-out and two DVI-out ports.

In the top view, you can see that the copper fins in this cooler are actually a single thin piece of copper folded to form fins. In the bottom view, you can see that the cooler is mounted on top of several copper spacers.

Size Comparison
To give you a better idea of how big the card is, we compared the GeForce 7900 GT with its bigger brother, the GeForce 7900 GTX as well as the GeForce 7600 GT.

The GeForce 7900 GT is longer than the GeForce 7600 GT, but uses the same single-slot copper cooler. Therefore, it's much shorter and thinner than the GeForce 7900 GTX which uses a really bulky aluminium cooler.
