A Closer Look At The ZenBook UX305

At just 12.3 mm thin, the ASUS ZenBook UX305 is not only 25% thinner than the Transformer Book T300 Chi, it is also 6% thinner than the new Apple MacBook! Check out its supremely thin profile.

At 1.2 kg, the ASUS ZenBook UX305 isn't as light as the new MacBook but it is 230 g lighter than the Transformer Book T300 Chi.

Despite its ultra-thin profile, ASUS managed to squeeze in a full USB 3.0 port, a micro HDMI port, an audio port and a power port on the right side...

And TWO more USB 3.0 ports and a card reader on the left side!

Even when fully closed, the ASUS ZenBook UX305 is this thin!

It's amazing how so much techology is packed into such a thin profile.

Prices & Availability

Both the Transformer Book T300 Chi and the ZenBook UX305 are available right now. However, availability of specific models and specifications vary from country to country.

Here in Malaysia, the Transformer Book T300 Chi is only available with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for RM 3,199 (~US$ 899), while in other countries 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage are available.

As for the ZenBook UX305, it is only available with 4 GB of RAM and a Full HD (1920x1080) display here in Malaysia. It is priced at RM 2,999 (~US$ 829) with a 256 GB SSD, and RM 2,399 (~US$ 659) with a 128 GB SSD. Do note that the cheaper ZenBook UX305 with 128 GB SSD does not come with a 802.11ac WiFi module, but a slower 802.11b/g/n WiFi module.

In other countries, the ASUS ZenBook UX305 is available with the QHD+ display (3200x1800), as well as with 8 GB of RAM. It may also have a longer 3-year warranty.
