Installing The SI-97

The installation is nothing complicated.

First, apply a thin layer of thermal paste on the GPU.

Then place the SI-97's heatsink base over the GPU and align the holes in the aluminium plate with the mounting holes on the graphics card.

Next, insert the bolts through the holes and attach the nuts to the bolts at the back of the card.

Then, tighten the nuts and make sure the SI-97 base is exerting sufficient pressure over the GPU.

Installed!

At the back of the card, I used a retention clip from the Jetart JACSH1 GPU cooler. Using a retention clip is highly recommended because it allows you to apply more pressure without causing the PCB to bend over time.

The retention clip

If you are modding the cooler onto a GeForce 6800GT or 6800 Ultra, you can use the back plate that came with the stock cooler instead.
