ED#94 : NVIDIA Launches The GeForce 9800 GTX+
The NVIDIA G92 GPU is a phenomenal GPU because it's a fast and power-efficient GPU. Even after NVIDIA officially launched their new GT 200 series of graphics cards, they still managed to squeeze a little more out of the G92.
Today, NVIDIA officially launched the last member of their GeForce 9 family - the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ (Plus). The NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ is basically a higher-clocked version of the GeForce 9800 GTX. Here are its full specifications :

As you can see, the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ is nothing more than a GeForce 9800 GTX with a slightly faster GPU. NVIDIA bumped its core clock to 738 MHz with a correspondingly faster stream processor clock of 1836 MHz. As that's just a 9.3 % increase in clock speed, the GeForce 9800 GTX+ is unlikely to excite anyone who is already using a G92-based graphics card like the GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB.
What's more interesting is the news that NVIDIA will drop the price of the "regular" GeForce 9800 GTX to US$199, with the GeForce 9800 GTX+ pegged at US$229. As such, the NVIDIA line-up of desktop graphics cards (compared to ATI's) becomes like this :
