ED#135 : Intel Ivy Bridge June 2012 Details Leaked!

Recently, we posted that Intel will be launching their Ivy Bridge desktop and mobile processors on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Nothing has changed - that date is confirmed. More importantly, it will be a hard launch with Ivy Bridge notebooks and desktops ready to roll. So that's great news for those of you who skipped Sandy Bridge and are eagerly waiting to upgrade to Ivy Bridge.

Today, we will be taking a look at the next slew of processors, which Intel will release on June 3rd, 2012. This was supposed to mark the launch of the Intel Core i3 Ivy Bridge processors. However, it now appears Intel has delayed the Core i3 processor launch until Q4 2012. In fact, they also shifted 8 of the processors originally slated for the April launch to June.

Apparently, they still have considerable stock of Sandy Bridge processors and would naturally prefer to trim that down before launching more Ivy Bridge processors. Let's take a look at the details...

Intel Ivy Bridge Desktop Processors

The only standard voltage processors in the June 3rd, 2012 launch will be Intel Core i5 processors. Do note that the Core i5-3330 may not make it this June if stocks of Sandy Bridge processors don't drop as quickly as Intel would like.

There are two "special" parts in this list - the Intel Core i5-3475S which is the only non-Core i5-3700 series processor to come with the HD Graphics 4000, and Core i5-3470T which is the only dual-core part with a small 3 MB cache, albeit with Hyper-Threading Technology enabled. Again, the Core i5-3330S may not actually make it to the June launch.
