NVIDIA CUDA
Any launch of an NVIDIA GPU would not be complete without a mention that it supports NVIDIA CUDA. Yes, like all NVIDIA's current GPUs, the Next-Generation NVIDIA ION supports general-purpose computing through CUDA. Of course, this only works with CUDA-accelerated software...
Windows 7 Home Premium
Windows 7 Home Premium isn't exclusive to the Next-Generation NVIDIA ION. Any manufacturer who wants to bundle Windows 7 Home Premium with their netbooks can do so (with Microsoft's gratitude to boot!). To differentiate ION-based netbooks from their sundry Intel competitors, NVIDIA is apparently insisting that all ION netbooks should ship with Windows 7 Home Premium.
That makes sense, of course, since Windows 7 Starter doesn't come with key features that NVIDIA needs to truly showcase the Next-Generation NVIDIA ION's full capabilities. What could better remind users of the powerful ION GPU hiding in their netbook than the presence of the Aero 3D interface? The inclusion of Windows Media Center would also conveniently convert ION notebooks into ready-to-roll home theater PCs.
