Multi-Display SLI
Finally, NVIDIA adds support for multi-monitor SLI! The upcoming Release 180 driver will introduce basic multi-display options for SLI setups. It's not perfect (acceleration is limited beyond the primary display) and there's still much to be done, but it's a start.
With 2 or 3 cards in SLI mode, you can attach two displays to one of the cards. Games that support two displays will benefit from the SLI configuration but NVIDIA concedes that only the primary display will enjoy "maximum performance" from the graphics cards. The primary display will be identified with a new indicator (second picture below).
If you want to hook up three or four displays, you will need a third graphics card. It is important though that this third card must be different from the cards in SLI. At the moment, the driver will "insist" on linking similar graphics cards in SLI. So, if you want to run 3-4 displays, you will need to buy a different model. Here's another caveat - Windows does not allow you to run more than one display driver so you cannot use an ATI graphics card to power the third and fourth displays.
