Conclusion
Do I regret buying this expensive keyboard? Not at all! The Ducky DK9008G2 keyboard is here to stay for a very long time. I'm honestly sick of the extremely short lifespan of most dome switch keyboards. The Cherry MX switches are rated to last at least 5 million keystrokes. Even if you are a professional typist who can type 200 characters a minute for 8 hours a day, it will take you over 3.5 years to wear out the switches!
Even fading key caps are not a problem. Faded key caps are easily removed and replaced, especially when there are so many third-party options for Cherry MX key caps. Even Ducky makes replacement key caps.
The feel of the Cherry MX Brown key switches is quite hard to describe. All I can say that it feels absolutely fabulous. It makes you want to type more for absolutely no reason at all! That's how nice it is to type on these keyswitches.
Many have complained about the Ducky DK9008G2's poor build quality and the annoyingly-bright LED lights. Personally, I think it's great to modernise the usually boring-looking QWERTY mechanical keyboard like the Ducky DK9008G2 with some LED bling. However, I'm disappointed that the palm rest (for which I had to pay extra!) did not cover the entire width of the keyboard.
If you are looking for macro functions, you should look elsewhere. This is a pure typist keyboard, with some "gaming capabilities". I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Ducky DK9008G2 to anyone looking for a decent mechanical keyboard replacement. Of course, the much higher cost must not be an issue for you!
Even though it is a key differentiating feature, the USB NKRO is something I will never utilize. If you similarly do not need this feature, then I highly recommend you look for the normal DK9008 keyboard without this feature to save some money.
