Introduction
Ever since the introduction of the 7200 rpm spindle speed in desktop drives, thermal dissipation has become an important issue for hard disks. Although many hard disks can do without active cooling, it is still advisable to invest in some kind of cooling solution for your hard disk.
This is especially true for drives that spin at 7200 rpm or 10,000 rpm. These drives generate a lot of heat. Cooling them will improve their reliability and reduce the risk of failure, thereby extending their lifespan.
While many hardware enthusiasts make do with a fan or two directly blowing at the hard disk, there is always a market for a more refined product. Therefore, many companies now offer hard disk coolers. In fact, this includes the Taiwanese company Jetart, who seems to be dabbling into everything related to thermal dissipation!
Jetart has been in the cooling business since 1989. They actually started out as a design house. But eventually, they started manufacturing and exporting their own cooling products. Their current product ranges cover everything from air cooling to water cooling and case mod products. Of course, now they also produce hard disk coolers!
Today, we will take a look at one of Jetart’s new hard disk coolers - the Jetart HCA05 HDD Guard. Join us as we explore the HDD Guard in depth!
