WinBench 99 Version 2.0
Business Disk WinBench 99
The Corsair F90 did very well in this real-world test. It registered a phenomenally-high score of 64.2 MB/s, which puts it ahead of the 120 GB OCZ Vertex 2 (E) solid state drive. The score also makes this solid state drive almost 3x faster than the fastest desktop hard disk drive in the market, the 600 GB Western Digital VelociRaptor.
High-End Disk WinBench 99
In the High-End Disk WinMark 99 test though, the Corsair F90 SSD continued to be the fastest solid state drive, edging out the 120 GB OCZ Vertex 2 (E) by 5.5%. It was also about 85% faster than the 600 GB Western Digital VelociRaptor.
Transfer Rate Range
This chart shows you the range of platter-to-buffer transfer rates from the innermost track to the outermost track for hard disk drives, and the range of memory cell-to-controller transfer rates for solid state drives. In other words, it shows you the range of transfer rates of hard disk drives and solid state drives (from minimum and maximum).
Unlike hard disk drives which deliver a wide range of transfer rates, solid state drives have an almost uniform transfer rate across the entire device. With a virtually flat transfer rate of 279-280 MB/s, the Corsair F90 SSD was just a tad slower than the 120 GB OCZ Vertex 2 (E) and slightly faster than the 160 GB Intel X25-M G2 (34 nm).
