Microsoft Celebrates The Launch Of Windows 10 In Malaysia

On the 10th of August 2015, Microsoft Malaysia officially launched Windows 10 here in sunny Malaysia. The launch event was held at the PJ Trade Center, with over 50 members of the Malaysian media and many Microsoft partners in attendance. They were also graced by the presence of three inspirational Malaysians who will be working with Microsoft to make a greater difference in the lives of the disenfranchised and the less fortunate.

Raman, Managing Director of Microsoft Malaysia, and a demo of the Amazing Features of Windows 10 by Bruce Howe of Microsoft Malaysia's Consumer Channel Group.

Those who arrived early were greeted with Windows-themed cupcakes and chocolate. Even the drinks were blue. Everything was a shade of cyan, except for the chocolate though. Hey, take a look at this - a #Windows10 flower we created from the cupcakes and a chocolate lollipop!

The Windows 10 Keynote Speech

Microsoft Malaysia's Managing Director, K. Raman started off the event with a keynote speech on Windows 10. Amongst other things, he announced that in the first 24 hours of the release of Windows 10, there were 14 million devices running on Windows 10.

He also pointed out that the Microsoft #UpgradeYourWorld campaign is not just about upgrading to Windows 10, but also working with individuals and organisations to upgrade the lives of other people. In the spirit of Windows 10, Microsoft will be working with 10 international NGOs and 100 local non-profit organisations.

Microsoft had already identified 9 NGOs to work with, from Keep A Child Alive (KCA) to the Malala Fund. They are leaving it to Windows 10 users to select the 10th NGO at Windows.com/UpgradeYourWorld.

He then introduced three inspirational Malaysian leaders who have been working with Microsoft on upgrading the world :

• Yang Berbahagia Senator Bathmavathi Krishnan, Member of Dewan Negara, Parlimen Malaysia, and an advocate and champion of the disabled community;

• YM Raja Riza Shazmin Raja Badrul Shah, Honorary Secretary of Mercy Malaysia – an established disaster relief organization providing medical and humanitarian services both locally and abroad; and

• John-son Oei, the founder of EPIC Homes – an organization which builds homes for the Orang Asli in Malaysia.
