How Well Did We Do?
After loads of tests, we finally pegged the maximum stable clock speeds of our GeForce 9800 GTX+ at 815 MHz core and 1320 MHz RAM. This means we managed to overclock the GPU by 77 MHz (10.4 %). For those who are interested, overclocking the core to 804 MHz also overclocked the shader processors to 2028 MHz. We only managed to overclock the memory bus by 220 MHz (20 %) but only because that's the limit set by nTune!
Because the memory chips were rock-solid at 1320 MHz, we felt that it could definitely have gone a little further. Unfortunately, nTune has currently capped the memory clock to 1320 MHz. Now, let's take a look at how the overclocked GeForce 9800 GTX+ compares to the stock GeForce 9800 GTX+ and a selection of other cards.

Even with the higher memory speed, the overclocked GeForce 9800 GTX+ still fell short of the GeForce 8800 GTX's phenomenal 86.4 GB/s memory bandwidth. On the other hand, it had a 41.7 % higher fill rate.
Alright, let's give the overclocked GeForce 9800 GTX+ a spin and see how well it does against the standard GeForce 9800 GTX+. We will also examine which is more important - fillrate or memory bandwidth.
