The Samsung Exynos 7420 powers both the Samsung Galaxy Note5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6. This is a very fast octa-core processor, so it's no surprise to see it blow the quad-core Intel Atom Z3580-powered ASUS ZenFone 2 out of the water. Our example appears to be slightly slower in performance, as the comparison below shows.

Gaming Performance - 3DMark

We tested the Samsung Galaxy Note5's gaming performance using 3DMark, using the much harder Sling Shot test. This is because it maxxes out the default Ice Storm Extreme test. Unfortunately, the ASUS ZenFone 2 does not have the proper driver to run it, so we substituted it for the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.

As fast as the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser is in 2D games, the Samsung Galaxy Note5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 are in a class of their own when it comes to serious 3D gaming.
