LCD Power Saving

Common Options : Enabled, Disabled

Quick Review

This BIOS feature is mobile PC-specific (e.g. notebook, netbook) BIOS feature. It controls the power saving function of the LCD controller.

When enabled, the LCD controller automatically reduces the brightness level of the LCD backlight when the mobile PC runs on battery power. This reduces power consumption and increases battery life at the expense of screen brightness.

When disabled, the LCD controller will not adjust the brightness level of the LCD backlight when the mobile PC runs on battery power. The screen brightness level will be retained at all times.

If you require the brightness level of the LCD panel to be consistent even while running on battery power, then you should disable this BIOS option. Otherwise, enable this BIOS option to help extend your computing time while on battery power.
