This BIOS feature controls the colour-encoding system used by motherboard's built-in video encoder. Setting this correctly allows the video encoder to produce the correct analog video output for your television set.

When set to NTSC, the video encoder will encode the analog video output for display on an NTSC television set.

When set to PAL, the video encoder will encode the analog video output for display on an PAL television set.

When set to SECAM, the video encoder will encode the analog video output for display on an SECAM television set.

It is recommended that you set this BIOS feature to the encoding system used by your television set. If your television set supports all three standards though, the PAL system would result in a superior image quality, especially if your television set supports the new 100 Hz refresh rate.

Please note that this BIOS feature does not control the video encoder on a separate TV card or graphics card. You will need to set the colour-encoding system for the TV or graphics card either through their BIOS setup menu (if one is available) or through the provided driver.
