PS/2 Mouse Function Control

Common Options : Enabled, Auto

Quick Review

IRQ12 is the interrupt usually reserved for the PS/2 mouse's use. This BIOS feature determines if the BIOS should reserve IRQ12 for the PS/2 mouse or allow other devices to make use of this IRQ.

Setting this BIOS feature to Auto allows the BIOS to allocate IRQ12 to the PS/2 mouse if the mouse is detected at startup. Otherwise, IRQ12 is released for use by other devices in the system.

Setting this BIOS feature to Enabled forces the BIOS to reserve IRQ12 even if a PS/2 mouse was not detected at startup.

It is recommended that you leave this BIOS feature at its default setting of Auto. This allows your BIOS to release IRQ12 for other devices to use if it doesn't detect the presence of a PS/2 mouse during startup.
