Overclock Recovery
Common Options : Enabled, Disabled
Quick Review
While overclocking the processor, it is quite common for the motherboard to fail to boot. To make the PC bootable again, you usually need to either remove the CMOS battery or use a jumper on the motherboard to reset the CMOS settings. Some motherboards however obviate the need to do so through clever programming.
In such motherboards, the BIOS is smart enough to automatically recover from a boot failure (either through a CMOS reset or temporarily using auto-detected settings). The BIOS feature called Overclock Recovery or in some cases, Over Clock Recovery allows you to control this automatic recovery feature.
When enabled, it allows the motherboard to automatically detect a boot failure and recover from it.
When disabled, the motherboard will not recover from any boot failures.
Naturally, you should enable this BIOS feature so that you can easily recover from any overclocking-related boot failures. However, please note that this BIOS feature cannot recover from boot failures that are not a result of overclocking, e.g. hardware failure, operating system corruption, etc.
